Soft ungroundings are “any operation not involving immediate peril to the boat or to a legally protected marine environment and requiring only one towing vessel with lines attached to the grounded boat to refloat it or to the disabled boat to tow it.”. Basically, it is where the vessel can not move from its position under its own power. For soft ungroundings, your insurance provider would not need to be involved.

When making your choice, please keep in mind:
We charge based on "Portal-to-Portal". In simplest terms, we charge from the time we leave our port until the time we return to our port. The non-member rate per hour is $275.00! Also, the distance you breakdown from your home port is not important to us, it is the distance you breakdown from our home port that matters. So, if you only boat close to your port, but your port is 10 miles from ours, your cost could exceed the expectations.
Soft-Ungroundings - In addition to "Portal-to-Portal" and hourly towing charges, once you find yourself bumped onto a sandbar, non-member rates are charged at $22.00 per foot of your vessels length! The ungrounding fee is NOT based on the time it takes to pull you free, but rather the length of your boat.
This being said, let's take a look at a familiar scenario;
You run soft aground 15 miles from our port, on your 24 foot vessel.........
1.5 hrs to scene @ $ day rate of $315.00 per hour
10 Minute Ungrounding of vessel at $22.00 per ft of vessel @ 24 ft
1.5 hrs return time at night time rate of $345.00
Non member would have to pay out of pocket
